CAPITAINE, ancien artilleur de la marine et maintenant pêcheur en haute mer, élève sa fille MIA dans l’espoir qu’elle puisse reprendre son entreprise de pêche. Il souhaite l’éloigner des tourments causés par la drogue et la corruption sur la réserve, provenant du village blanc à proximité. Lorsque Capitaine apprend que Mia veut s’expatrier en ville, il refoule une rage intérieure et son passage au pensionnat refait surface. Quand il découvre que Mia a quitté la réserve et qu’elle est en danger, il prend aussitôt la route dans une quête tendue entre la haute mer et le centre-ville de Montréal dans l’espoir de la retrouver.

In the early 1990s, CAPTAIN, a former Navy gunner, is now working as a fisherman. He hopes his daughter MIA will one day take over his business. He is determined to protect her from drugs and corruption seeping into the Innu reserve he comes from, brought in from the nearby white village. When Mia reveals she wants to move to the city, Captain suppresses his anger, descends into apathy as memories of his time in residential school resurface. But when he learns that Mia left the reserve and is in danger, he abandons the high seas and hits the road toward Montreal, desperately hoping to find her.
